Welcome to Summer @ Live Arts!
We are excited to announce our most ambitious lineup of camps and musical productions ever. Summer @ Live Arts is when our education programs take over the building. Every room, every theater, and every studio comes alive. This year we’ve kept our most popular camps, such as Musical Theater Showcase, Comedy Camp, and Mini Camps for Wee Ones, and we’ve added even more performance opportunities…
Summer @ Live Arts now includes two full-scale productions of Broadwaymusicals performing on our main stage! Campers ages 8-14 can join our new Live Arts Youth Theater Company in our three-week Musical Theater Production Camp: Seussical Jr., which culminates in four public performances. Older students, ages 14-20, can audition for the Live Arts Teen Theater Company’s inaugural production: Nice Work If You Can Get It. They will rehearse for six weeks and perform thirteen times.
Live Arts has been a force for performing arts education in Central Virginia for twenty-five years. Meaningful exposure to the arts increases academic performance, expands career success across all disciplines, and builds empathy skills. Take note: a high school student who has been in a play is four times less likely to tolerate racist behavior than any other student. That’s one reason Live Arts forges theater and community every day. And you can too. With the most impressive teaching faculty around and more performance opportunities than ever, we invite students to achieve goals and have fun along the way.
Join us for Summer @Live Arts!
