Music and Lyrics by Stephen Schwartz

Book by Robert O. Hirson

Directed by Perry Medlin

Premiering on Broadway in 1972, and revived there to great acclaim in 2013, Pippin has also been a perennial favorite of theaters and their audiences since its initial production. With an unforgettable score by the musical theater giant Stephen Schwartz (Wicked, Godspell, Children of Eden), the show continues to captivate and appeal to the young at heart throughout the world.

Heir to the Frankish throne, the young prince Pippin is in search of the secret to true happiness and fulfillment. He seeks it in the glories of the battlefield, the temptations of the flesh, and the intrigues of political power. In the end, though, Pippin finds that happiness lies not in extraordinary endeavors, but rather in the un-extraordinary moments that happen every day.

Pippin‘s message is universal and its ideas will resonate with audiences across the age spectrum.

This production is a Live Arts Teen Theater Company production. Auditioners must be ages 14-20 at the time of the audition.  Auditions take place at Live Arts on April 8th and 9th. The fast-paced rehearsal process will begin May 15th and take place five days a week. For more information about auditioning and to request an audition slot, please contact tracie@livearts.org using ‘Auditions’ in the subject heading.
