Playwrights & Playmakers Intensive
Level 1: Rising 3rd-6th grade Level 2: Rising 7th-12th grade
Are you a creator who likes to do a little bit of a lot of things, for example, an actor, writer, and director? Then this camp is for you! Playwrights & Playmakers Intensive is for serious (and aspiring) theater artists, directors, producers, actors, technicians, designers, and creative writers only! Experienced Live Arts theater-makers will lead campers on a journey to create new plays from start to finish. Workshops and activities will include sessions in script development & playwriting, production design, acting, and of course, rehearsal & performance. Each student will have the opportunity to write their own material, as well as write and stage group work collaboratively with other students. During the first week of camp, you and your new friends will write entirely original, short plays. During the second week, you will rehearse those plays and prepare the technical elements for the final showcase performance of camper-written, acted, and produced work on the Live Arts Gibson Stage. Invite your friends and family to see plays written and performed entirely by you!
