Musical Theater nerds, unite! Whether you’ve got lots of experience belting and hoofing or you’re just getting started, (and wondering what those terms mean), this is the camp for you! Our talented teaching artists are preparing to offer a rich, fun, and rewarding Online Musical Theater Showcase Camp experience. We’ll primarily use the Zoom video-conferencing platform, which we like for its reliability, ease of use, and option for campers to use virtual backgrounds for privacy purposes, (and just for fun!)
Ti Ames will direct Musical Theater Showcase Camp. Along with their extensive experience directing youth productions and teaching acting and vocal lessons, Ti brings a lot of enthusiasm to this summer’s camp experience. They have this to say:
“For me, the magic of musical theater has always been about singing when you can’t do anything else. We sing to express our emotions when words just aren’t enough. What a time to sing when it seems like there’s no other way to truly express how we’ve been feeling these past months in quarantine!”
The amazing Kristin Baltes is our Musical Director for this camp for the sixth summer! We are so lucky to have the benefits of her talent, upbeat and professional style, and extensive teaching and music directing experience. Kristin has this to say about 2020 camps:
“I wouldn’t spend my summer anywhere else than getting to work with such talented and entertaining students! This summer will go down in history as being the most challenging, inspiring, and creative experience that any of us have done and I am so excited to work together with all of you! We are going to learn so much, have a BLAST, and delight ourselves with our performances! We will be creating something NEW and never done before! I am glad you are joining us on this journey…I promise you, we will be amazed at what we do!”
Jack Heaphy is our first-time choreographer! He has both attended and helped with this camp in the past, and he has spent the past several months working on an online-only choreography project. We know his energy, charisma, talent, and knowledge will be a huge asset. Jack says this:
“I think that working online actually opens many new doors when it comes to dance, and I’m extremely excited for this opportunity to creatively find new ways to use technology to our advantage!”
A sample Daily Schedule is below. Activities that can be completed at a camper’s own speed on breaks or after camp, like memorization, practice assignments, and more will also be provided.

This summer’s online forum offers us really exciting final presentation opportunities! The staff and our campers will put together an online gallery of work to share, which will include video clips, recorded Zoom work, and more. We will do monologue work and we may do scene work; each camper will prepare a full song to share; there will be group songs and dances; and more! Creativity will abound! No special tech know-how needed–we will work with the campers to make all this happen!
Please contact Education Director Miller Susen at [email protected] with questions about the online camp format.
